Steven Jackson was a force all day in the running game, leading the way to a surprising victory for the Rams over the superior Saints, 31-21, at home.
A.J. Feeley went 20 for 37 for the game with 175 yards passing, one touchdown and one fumble. On the Saints side, Drew Brees went 30 for 44 with 269 yards passing, one touchdown and two picks.
Jackson was a standout player for the Rams, rushing for 159 yards on 25 attempts with two touchdowns in addition to four receptions for 32 yards. Brandon Lloyd pulled in six passes for 53 yards with a touchdown.
The St. Louis defense was the major reason for the victory, allowing 56 yards rushing and 227 passing, taking back one interception for touchdown. They terrorized Brees and the Saints offensive line with six sacks.
Saints wide receiver Lance Moore contributed 74 receiving yards and one touchdown.
The Rams head to Glendale next week to face off with the Cardinals (1-6) while the Saints will play host to the Buccaneers (4-3).
